Rays Crowned American League East Champions

October 4, 2010

Thanks to their come-from-behind 3-2 win on Sunday afternoon in Kansas City, the Tampa Bay Rays are headed to the postseason as champions of the American League East. The Hot Rods parent club finished the season one game ahead of the New York Yankees and locked up the best record in the American League, earning home field advantage throughout the American League side of the playoff bracket.

The Rays begin their quest for a World Series title on Wednesday afternoon against the Texas Rangers at 12:37 PM CDT. Games one and two of the American League Division Series take place at Tropicana Dome in St. Petersburg, FL on Wednesday and Thursday. The best-of-5 series shifts to Texas for Game 3 on Saturday.

The Hot Rods congratulate the Rays and wish them luck as they look for a return trip to the World Series. Be sure to follow the Rays throughout the postseason at www.raysbaseball.com.

And don't forget about our World Series Party for Season Ticket holders coming up later in the month. We'll have more details as the series approaches!
