Rick Berry Named Owlz General Manager

The Orem Owlz announced that Rick Berry has been named General Manager.

Berry will be assuming the duties of Justo Vazquez, who has left the Owlz to return to his native California.

"We are thrilled to have Rick at the helm," said Owlz Owner Jeff Katofsky. "His experience as a father, a college football coach and his years of operating independent baseball clubs in Utah and Hawaii makes Rick a perfect choice to enhance the Owlz traditions."

Rick is a native of Salt Lake City where he was a successful athlete in high school and college receiving all-state honors in high school football at Skyline High and twice college all-conference at Ricks College. He has coached football at Ricks College, Dixie State and Dixie High School.

Rick's extensive career in sports marketing includes positions with L.A. Gear, Cape Athletic, and Above the Rim. He is the former General Manager of the St. George RoadRunners and the Na Koa Ikaika baseball teams of the Golden Baseball League.

Rick is a self proclaimed "Sports Junkie". He and his wife have five children and three grandchildren.
