Professional Instructor Bios
Dickson, 25, a native of Huntington, NY, was originally selected by the Chicago Cubs in the 35th round of the 2011 MLB Draft out of Lafayette College (Easton, PA) and was acquired by the Washington Nationals in a June, 2013 trade with Chicago that sent RHP Henry Rodriguez to the Cubs. Dickson won a 2014 Mills Cup Championship with the Potomac Nationals during a season in which the power right-handed pitcher went (5-9) with a 4.37 earned run average over the course of 30 appearances (15 starts) in the Carolina League while logging 100 strikeouts in 123.2 innings. Dickson earned a (3-3) record for Potomac in 2015 and posted a 3.60 ERA in 12 outings (eight starts) after starting the season on the disabled list.

Mapes, 24, was taken by Washington in the 30th round of the 2014 MLB Draft out of Tulane University (New Orleans, LA) following additional collegiate experience accrued at Navarro College (Corsicana, TX) and the United States Naval Academy (Annapolis, MD). Mapes of Plano, TX, who was also previously drafted by the New York Yankees in the 49th round of the 2011 MLB Draft but did not sign, was arguably the most consistent pitcher in the P-Nats' arsenal during a 2015 campaign that featured 30 appearances to his credit including eight spot starts. A crafty, five-pitch righty, Mapes earned a (6-3) record to go with an anemic 2.38 ERA over 90.2 innings (17 walks/71 strikeouts).

Reistetter, 23, a product of Hofstra University (Hempstead, NY), signed with the Nationals as a non-drafted free agent in 2013 out of Hauppauge, NY. The lefty-swinging catcher logged only one game with the P-Nats in 2015 but swung a .308 bat in the South Atlantic League with the Class-A Hagerstown Suns for 59 games. Reistetter belted nine doubles, two triples, and one home run while driving in 21 runs for the Suns. Reistetter threw out almost 33% of potential basestealers in the SAL (16 caught stealing in 49 attempts).

Colangelo, 39, the founder of Colangelo Baseball, attended local C.D. Hylton High School (Woodbridge, VA) then nearby George Mason University (Fairfax, VA) before being drafted by the Anaheim Angels (now the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim) in the 21st round of the 1997 MLB Amateur Draft.

Colangelo, a native of Teaneck, NJ, was a career .298 Minor League hitter with 56 home runs, 293 RBIs, and an.859 on-base plus slugging percentage (OPS).

In the Major Leagues, Colangelo patrolled the outfield for Anaheim (1999), the San Diego Padres (2001), and the Oakland Athletics (2002).

Following his retirement from MLB, Colangelo now dedicates his time to serving the Northern Virginia region through baseball instruction that transforms local amateur talent into collegiate and professional athletes.
