BANDITS HOLD RASC-AL LANTERN CONTEST

Best pumpkin carver to win cash prize and tickets

In the spirit of Halloween the River Bandits are asking fans to show their creativity by carving a Bandit themed pumpkin for the chance to win great prizes from the team. Fans can display their artistic talent and upload pictures of their masterpiece to Rascal's Facebook page or e-mail them directly to [email protected].

All entries must be submitted by Thursday, October 28 at 5:00 p.m. The Rasc-al Lanterns will be judged on creativity, skill, and the best use of the River Bandits theme. Prizes will be given out for the pumpkins that best meet the criteria of the contest. First place will get $50 cash and four tickets to the River Bandits season opener on Thursday, April 7 against the Beloit Snappers. The second place gourd will take home four tickets to the opener plus $40 in Bandit Bucks with third place getting four tickets to the April 7 opener.

Rascal's Facebook friends will get priority judging in the contest. Fans interested in entering the contest are encouraged to add Rascal as a friend on Facebook to find out more details about the contest.

The contest is open to fans of all ages. Only the top three entries will be contacted about their prize. All entries should be appropriate for all ages. Entries submitted by e-mail should include full name and contact information along with an attached picture of the Rasc-al Lantern.

ABOUT THE BANDITS: The Quad Cities River Bandits opened the 2010 season by unveiling their brand new state-of-the-art field, and over the course of the season added a number of new improvements, including a new children's playground, new concession stands for both adults and children in the team's Picnic Plaza, a new "triple-suite" for small groups on the suite level, and a new group area just beyond the right-field fence.
