Fisher Cats Named Eastern League's Best for Promotional Effort & Community Involvement for Third Straight Year

The New Hampshire Fisher Cats, Double-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue
Jays,
have been named the Eastern League's top team for most outstanding
promotional
effort, community involvement and overall operation for the third
consecutive
year, earning the league's nomination for Minor League Baseball's
prestigious
Larry MacPhail Promotional Trophy.
Danielle
Matteau, the Fisher
Cats Director of Public Affairs, has been awarded the league's
nomination for
the Rawlings Woman Executive of the Year Award for the third straight
season. The
Rawlings Woman Executive of the Year award is given out annually to one
woman
who has made an outstanding contribution to her club, league or to
baseball.
The
MacPhail Trophy and the
Rawlings Award winners will be recognized at the Baseball Winter
Meetings in
"We
are truly honored to
receive the Eastern League's nod for this tremendous award for a third
consecutive
season," said Fisher Cats President Rick Brenner. "With so many
deserving teams in the league vying for this honor, we are humbled to
again be
recognized for the hard work and commitment our staff put forth all
year
long."
During
the 2010 season, the
Fisher Cats welcomed a total of 391,472 fans to regular season and
playoff
games at Merchantsauto.com Stadium, including 14 standing-room-only
crowds.
August saw the highest monthly attendance in the team's history with
110,285
fans enjoying Fisher Cats games.
The
team continued its work
off the field as well. Since 2006, the team has helped to generate over
$1.6
million for the community. The Fisher Cats Reading Challenge, presented
by the
Community College System of New Hampshire, saw an all-time high in
participation,
with over 21,000
Matteau
makes significant contributions
to the team's day-to-day operations, holding a key role in marketing,
promotions, business operations and community relations. She spearheads
the
club's successful internship program, oversees the game presentation,
directs
the team's marketing and community relations strategies and serves as a
leading
corporate advertising executive.

honor headlines the
list of accolades for the front office over the past year, which
included
Fisher Cat Head Turf Manager Shaun Meredith winning the 2010 Diamond
Pro Turf
Manager of the Year Award
for the
Eastern League; Fisher Cats President Rick Brenner being named Ballpark
Digest's
Executive of the Year following the 2009 Season and the club being
recognized
as the 'Best Sporting Event to Take a Client' in the NH Business
Review's Best
of Business (BOB) Awards for the third straight year.
