Dusty Coleman Re-Signs With Royals
2015 Storm Chasers infielder Dusty Coleman has re-signed with the Kansas City Royals to a minor league contract according to Baseball America, and was one of two minor leaguers to re-join the club along with pitcher Aroni Nina.
The 28-year-old Coleman spent the majority of the 2015 campaign with Omaha, tallying a .275 average (69-251), adding 31 runs, 11 doubles, two triples, seven homers and 27 RBI. After beginning 2015 with Double-A Northwest Arkansas, Coleman went on to join the Storm Chasers before being promoted to Kansas City and making his Major League debut on July 3 versus the Minnesota Twins.
The South Dakota native also had one of Omaha's highlights of the year, if not the top defensive play of the season, in a 4-2 victory over the Fresno Grizzlies at Werner Park when Coleman made a spectacular diving catch over the tarp in foul territory down the third base line, even reaching the stands. The sensational grab earned the infielder a spot on Sportscenter's Top Ten Plays of the night, checking in at No. 4.
