PORTLAND, MAINE - The Eastern League is pleased to announce that Chuck Domino, who is the Chief Executive Manager of the Richmond Flying Squirrels, has been chosen as the 2010 Eastern League Executive of the Year. Domino, who has won this award four previous times during his career, will be recognized at the Baseball Winter Meetings in Orlando, Florida during the Opening Session on Monday, December 6th.

With the presentation of this award the Eastern League would also like to recognize the outstanding job performed by Flying Squirrels Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Todd Parnell, General Manager Bill Papierniak and the entire Richmond front office staff.

Under Chuck's guidance the Richmond franchise welcomed a league-high 463,842 fans out to The Diamond during their inaugural Eastern League season. The Flying Squirrels also led the league in average attendance at 6,626 fans per game. The Squirrels success at the gates can be attributed at least in part to a promotional schedule that featured at least one promotion, and many times three or four different promotions, at every single home game last year in addition to their regular in-game entertainment. The Flying Squirrels were also heavily involved within the Richmond community, with players and staff making hundreds of appearances in the community while helping to raise money and awareness for numerous charitable organizations.

"Chuck Domino and the entire Flying Squirrels front office did a tremendous job during their first season in Richmond," said Eastern League President Joseph McEacharn. "The level of success the franchise achieved is above and beyond even the highest of expectations. The hard work and creativity of Chuck and his staff is the biggest reason for this success."

Domino, a 27-year veteran of Minor League Baseball, previously worked in the Eastern League as a member of the Reading Phillies, serving as General Manager of the team from 1988 until 2006 and serving as President of the franchise from 2006 to 2009. During his time with the R-Phils Chuck was named the Eastern League Executive of the Year for the 1988, 1989, 1997 and 2006 seasons. He was also chosen as the Baseball America Minor League Executive of the Year in 2003. Additionally, the Reading Phillies received the 2003 John H. Johnson President's Trophy and the Larry MacPhail Promotional Trophy in 1994 and 1999 under Chuck's leadership.
