Warfield named new Minor League CMO

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- Kristin Warfield has been named Minor League Baseball's Chief Marketing Officer, the organization announced today.

Warfield's responsibilities will include building a strategic vision and delivering corporate partnerships across integrated national platforms, as well as overseeing Minor League Baseball sales, advertising, marketing, promotion and research efforts. Warfield will begin on Jan. 4, 2016, at the Minor League Baseball office in St. Petersburg, Florida.

"Kristin's ability to successfully create integrated, measurable marketing platforms is one of her primary strengths," said co-chairmen of the MiLB Enterprises Board Tom Dickson and Chuck Greenberg in a joint statement. "As a wife and mother of four, she has a true appreciation for memorable family experiences, which will be a valuable asset to her as she embarks on her new role with Minor League Baseball."

Warfield brings nearly two decades of experience in developing and activating partnership programs to Minor League Baseball. Most recently, Warfield has served Churchill Downs Racetrack as vice president of sales & partnerships, responsible for oversight of the venue's sponsorship, licensing, hospitality and group sales initiatives. She saw significant growth in the track's partnership development and activation efforts that included new relations with Longines, the official timekeeper of the Kentucky Derby and title sponsor of the Longines Kentucky Oaks; RAM, the official truck of the Kentucky Derby; GH Mumm, the official champagne of the Kentucky Derby; Chateau Saint Michelle, Panasonic and Grey Goose, as well as extended alliances with Yum! Brands, Brown-Forman and Anheuser-Busch.

Before joining Churchill Downs, Warfield held posts with ASA Entertainment, where she served as vice president of partnerships; the American Automobile Association (AAA), where she was director of motorsports; and International Speedway Corp., where she worked as senior director of marketing partnerships.

Warfield earned her bachelor's degree in marketing from Stetson University and her MBA from Colorado State University.
