Christmas on the Mountain Running Now Through Jan. 1st

25th Annual event saved by Savage61 and local businesses, including Reading Fightin Phils
December 3, 2015

It's the holiday season and the Reading Fightin Phils and Baseballtown Charities are proud to be a community sponsor of the City of Reading's 25th Annual Christmas on the Mountain holiday light display running now through January 1st nightly starting at 5:00 p.m. at the Hillside Playground. The free holiday display features over a half million holiday lights, inflatables, and decorations along with Santa's workshop.

For the past 24 years, the Hillside Playground Association has transformed the Hillside Playground into a winter wonderland that became a Berks County tradition for many. Yet, the popular attraction was in jeopardy following the disbanding of the HPA during the summer.

It wasn't Tim Profit of Savage61 Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram led a partnership of local businesses that stepped in to make sure the tradition continued. A Reading High alum, Profit recruited the Reading High School Marine Corps Junior ROTC to help set up the playground operationally. He also worked with Leesport-based Axcess Industries to build a safe and reliable power distribution system.

Reading's Christmas on the Mountain will open each night until January 1st. The display is open from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Sunday through Thursday. On Fridays and Saturdays, the display is open from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Admission is free.
