CORPUS CHRISTI - Senior catcher Kylea Nix (Gregory-Portland), senior first baseman Ana Hinojosa (Tuloso-Midway), senior outfielder Marisol Ynfante (Ray), junior outfielder Olga Zamarripa (Carroll), senior pitcher Kendall Jones (Calallen), and junior pitcher Hannah Mayo (Carroll) are repeat selections on the 2016 South Texas Pre-Season Large School All-Star Team announced Tuesday.

All 13 members will be honored with their small school counterparts at the 12th South Texas Winter Baseball Banquet on Thursday, January 14, at the Solomon P. Ortiz Center.

The event is presented by the Corpus Christi Caller-Times and iHeartMEDIA. Tickets are on sale at the Whataburger Field Box Office. To order by phone, call (361) 561-HOOK (4665).

Nix, Hinojosa, and Mayo were 2015 first-team All-South Texas by the Caller-Times. Four other '16 pre-season all-stars were so honored: sophomore third baseman Araya Ayala (Flour Bluff), senior pitcher Kaitlin Warnke (Flour Bluff), senior outfielder Dominique Salinas (King), and senior pitcher Briana White (Ray). Ayala was Caller-Times Newcomer of the Year last spring.

Senior second baseman Angelica Davidson (Gregory-Portland), junior shortstop Jasmine Fernandez (Tuloso-Midway), and junior designated player Sarah Espinoza (Victoria West) round out the pre-season honor squad.

Zamarripa made last year's pre-season team at second base.

The all-stars were nominated and selected by area Class 5A and 6A coaches.
