Suns 2011 Schedule Highlights Enclosed
"The 2011 Hagerstown Suns season is going to provide another exciting ballpark experience for all Suns fans. From innovative promotions to terrific new ticket packages to stadium upgrades, every Suns fan is going to benefit tremendously," says Suns' General Manager, Bill Farley.
Hagerstown's 2011 South Atlantic League season will begin with an eight-game road trip from Thursday, April 7th to Thursday, April 14th that will include standoffs against the Rome Braves (Atlanta Braves) and Lexington Legends (Houston Astros).
Through the months of April and May, night games will be 6:35 p.m. starts. Beginning in June, the Suns will get underway at 7:05 p.m. in the evening. Sunday ballgames will commence at 4:05 p.m., with the exception of July 3rd and September 4th, both 7:05 games.
The Hagerstown Suns will play host to six day games (before 4:05 p.m.), eight afternoon games, and 56 night games.
The 2011 Suns season will yield premium giveaways, great theme nights, an awesome promotional schedule, and the best family-friendly entertainment in Hagerstown.
Popular promotional staple, Thirsty Thursday, will return in full swing, and is complemented by, Warm-up Wednesday, which will feature select "Feed-Your-Face" free-of-charge concessions and drink specials.
The 2011 Suns season is underscored with 13 fireworks shows taking place on Friday nights, with an additional festive fireworks blastoff on Sunday, July 3rd following a face-off against Lexington, in celebration of Independence Day and on Sunday, September 4th to commemorate Labor Day after a matchup against Lakewood.
Education Days at Municipal Stadium, all 10:35 a.m. first pitches, are set for Monday, April 18th, Tuesday, May 10th, and Wednesday, May 18th.
Camp Day at the "Muni" is Tuesday, July 26th at 11:05 a.m. as the Suns clash with the Greenville Drive (Boston Red Sox).
Holiday fun with the Suns includes Easter Weekend festivities on Saturday April 23rd surrounding a 2:05 p.m. game against the Hickory Crawdads (Texas Rangers), as an Easter egg hunt on the diamond will take place prior to first pitch.
Also, the Suns welcome a Mother's Day celebration on Sunday, May 8th at 4:05 p.m. as Hagerstown takes on the Legends.
A Father's Day festival on Sunday, June 19th at 4:05 p.m. will take place around a tilt with the Delmarva Shorebirds (Baltimore Orioles).
And the Suns will host closing ceremonies on the final game of the season, a 2:05 ballgame against Lakewood.
The Suns will wrap up the 2011 regular season by hosting the BlueClaws in a five-game home series that will last from Thursday, September 1st to Monday, September 5th.
Under new ownership for the first time since 2002, the Hagerstown Suns set their sights on a new horizon of Minor League baseball in Hagerstown, Maryland.
Recently, the Washington Nationals announced the renewal of a working Player Development Contract with the Hagerstown Suns to ensure professional baseball in Hagerstown will remain affiliated with the Nationals through the 2012 season.
