OKC Dodger Dash 5K and Fun Run Set for Saturday

Event to benefit the OKC Dodgers Baseball Foundation

OKLAHOMA CITY - The inaugural OKC Dodger Dash 5K and Fun Run will be held this Saturday, Dec. 19 at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. All entry fees and monetary donations at the event will go directly to the OKC Dodgers Baseball Foundation.

The cost per runner is $30 for the 5K and $25 for the Fun Run. Runners are encouraged to register now by clicking here. Although registration will be available the day of the race, the fee will be $35 for all runners. Registration fees include a long sleeve shirt, running bib, and timing chip.

From 9-11 a.m., the OKC Dodgers Snow Tubing Winter Festival will be open for a special discounted rate of $10 for both runners and the general public. The admission fee will also be treated as a donation to the OKC Dodgers Baseball Foundation. The box office will open at 8 a.m., or tickets can be purchased here.

The OKC Dodgers Baseball Foundation was established in 2015 as a 501(c)3 nonprofit in the state of Oklahoma. Its mission is to impact the lives of the families in the state of Oklahoma, provide educational opportunities for our youth and support the first responders of our great state, through charitable contributions and programming initiatives.

"This is the first major event for the Foundation, and we think it will be a great way to let the community know about our mission." said OKC Dodgers Baseball Foundation Managing Director Jennifer Van Tuyl. "Oklahomans tend to be very giving, and we know the support will be there."

Runners and spectators are encouraged to bring coats, gloves, scarves, and hats to donate to the Foundation. All children's winter wear will be donated to OKC Public Schools and all adult winter wear will be donated the City Rescue Mission.

Packet pickup will be available at the OKC Dodgers Team Store Dec. 17-18 from 10:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Registration and packet pickup will also be open the day of the race from 7-7:45 a.m. The Fun Run begins at 8 a.m., and the 5K will start at 8:30 a.m. The event will occur regardless of the weather, and the entry fee is non-refundable.
