Tumminia Receives Award at MASA Event

November 15, 2010
This past Saturday scouts from across the Mid-Atlantic region gathered for the 20th Annual Hall of Fame Banquet in Aberdeen, MA. Among the award recipients was the Goldklang Group's own Vice President of Marketing and Operations Tyler Tumminia, as she received the Contribution to Pro Baseball Award for her work in creating the Professional Baseball Scouts Hall of Fame.

The impact made on the scouting industry by the PBSHOF is unparalleled. Nothing of this size and manner has ever been done to give scouts the recognition they so deserve.

Also honored at the MASA banquet was Jim Howard (Baltimore Orioles) and Tony Lacava (Toronto Blue Jays) who both received the MASA Hall of Fame Award.

Scout of the Year went to Ed Santa (Colorado Rockies), Crosschecker of the Year went to Michael Holmes (Oakland Athletics) and Minnesota Twins outfielder Michael Cuddyer received the Outstanding Achievement in Pro Baseball Award.

Cuddyer, who had been scouted by many of the scouts in attendance, was drafted in 1997 and made his debut with the Minnesota Twins in 2001 playing in just eight games. Since then Cuddyer has become the starting right fielder and an instrumental part of the Twins organization.
