66ers Raise Over $26,000 With "SB Strong" T-Shirt Fundraiser

January 11, 2016

San Bernardino, CA- The Inland Empire 66ers Professional Baseball Club announced that the "SB Strong" benefit t-shirt sale has raised over $26,000 to be donated to San Bernardino United Relief Fund for those directly impacted by the tragic mass shooting on December 2, 2015 at the Inland Regional Center in San Bernardino. The relief fund was set up by the Arrowhead United Way and the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors.

"The t-shirts have just been our small way to stay connected with our community and help give people in our hometown of San Bernardino a simple way to show support for the victims of a terrible act," Inland Empire 66ers General Manager Joe Hudson said. "In the process we felt we could directly help those affected by fundraising for the relief effort."

An illustration of the community coming together were the 66ers partners in this endeavor. Local vendors Sportco and Blue Ribbon Ink & Thread donated their time and materials to provide the first 1,000 t-shirts free of charge so that the entirety of the donation could go to the United Relief Fund.

"I'm so grateful for Blue Ribbon Ink & Thread, Sportco and my front office staff for their efforts in this cause," Hudson added. "These shirts are for remembrance, but also a belief in the future of our community as a safe and prosperous place that can weather this tragedy and move forward."

The t-shirts, emblazoned with a symbolic arrowhead with the letters SB contained within its borders, will continue to be on sale at San Manuel Stadium and online at www.66ers.com. The cost remains $20 per shirt and proceeds will continue to assist the United Relief Fund. For more information call (909) 888-9922.
