Osprey announce 2011 game schedule

Missoula opens season on road June 20; home on June 22

The Missoula Osprey, in conjunction with the Pioneer League, released their game schedule for the 2011 season today. The Osprey will open their season with a two-game series at Helena on June 20, 2011, then return home for a two-game series against the Brewers on June 22.

Last season, the Osprey set a new single-season attendance mark, drawing more than 80,000 fans for the fourth straight year during the regular season. This year, the regular season runs from June 20 to September 8. Missoula will finish the season at home, closing out the 2011 season with a two-game series against Great Falls.

Although a complete promotional calendar will be released at a later date, the Osprey are planning to host their 7th Annual Independence Day Fireworks Celebration following the game on Friday, July 1. It will be one of three fireworks shows the Osprey has planned for this season.

"We are excited to have our schedule completed, as it means we are one step closer to the beginning of the 13th season of Missoula Osprey baseball," said Osprey General Manager - Sales & Marketing Jeff Griffin. "Now that the schedule is completed, we can begin the process of preparing our promotional schedule, which once again will be jammed packed exciting promotions to enhance the fan experience at the ballpark."

The Osprey are part of the Pioneer League's Northern Division and will again compete with the other three Montana teams (Helena, Great Falls, and Billings) for the division title. The 76-game schedule will once again be split into a two-season format with the first half ending on July 30. The winners of each half for each division advance to the post-season.

All Pioneer League franchises and affiliations remain the same in 2011. Here are the division alignments along with the affiliates for each of the teams:

North Division

Great Falls Voyagers (Chicago White Sox)
Helena Brewers (Milwaukee Brewers)

South Division
Casper Ghosts (Colorado Rockies)
Idaho Falls Chukars (Kansas City Royals)
Ogden Raptors (Los Angeles Dodgers)
Orem Owlz (Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim)

Season tickets for the 2011 season are available right now at the Osprey Office. This season, each season ticket will include a voucher for one free popcorn and one free regular soda for each home game, if the season tickets are paid in full by March 31, 2011.
