Loons, MBF Deck the Diamond
On Monday, December 20, the Great Lakes Loons and the Michigan Baseball Foundation (MBF) hosted families from Midland, Bay and Saginaw counties for the first-ever Deck the Diamond event at Dow Diamond. In all, 160 people took part in the event that included dinner and festivities for the families in attendance.
The evening was highlighted by a magic show performed by magician Gene Anderson, cookie decorating for the children and an appearance by everyone’s fine-feathered friend, Lou E. Loon. Santa Claus also took time out of his busy schedule to make a special appearance and deliver gifts to the children in attendance for Deck the Diamond.
“Deck the Diamond was a terrific opportunity for the MBF and Loons staff to celebrate the season of sharing,” said Paul Barbeau, Loons president and general manager. “The event was a great way to enjoy fellowship with families from the Great Lakes Bay Region and make some cherished memories during this Holiday season.”
The Loons and MBF partnered with the Salvation Army of Midland, Bay City and Saginaw to invite the families that attended Deck the Diamond.
