January 2, 2011
Royals squeeze by Danville for final playoff spot
Three games back of the Danville Braves with five games to go, the Royals rallied to win four straight games and wrap up the final Appalachian League playoff spot, securing the city's first postseason appearance since 1993. The Royals rallied to win seven of their final nine contests, including three straight wins against the Braves to finish second in the East Division. On August 30, the Royals held off Danville 3-2 on the road to lock up their playoff berth. The team finished with a 34-34 record, a huge improvement on the team's last place finish in the prior season.

New dugouts highlight Burlington Athletic Stadium improvements
Following the 2009 season, the City of Burlington spent the offseason greatly improving Burlington Athletic Stadium's dugout facilities. The new digs included a larger area for players, new state-of-the-art benches, and improved safety for players and coaches. The improvements were widely appreciated across the Appalachian League. Burlington Athletic Stadium finished second in the league in its annual playing surface survey filled out by coaches and umpires, which takes into account the overall playing facility.

LabCorp Night, 4th of July, Breast Cancer Awareness Night, and Alamance Chamber Night bring in big crowds
Once again, thanks to great community support, Burlington Athletic Stadium saw great attendance for several Royals home games. More than 2,000 fans rushed into the gates for each of the four biggest nights of the year.
