CHARLESTON, SC - David Cullins, who served as the Charleston RiverDogs Box Office Assistant this past season, has been promoted to the manager's position, according to general manager Dave Echols.

Cullins replaces Noel Blaha, who in November was named as the RiverDogs Director of Promotions.

"I am very excited about this opportunity," said Cullins.  "I had a great experience with my internship with the RiverDogs and am looking forward to joining the staff on a full-time basis."

Cullins, who hails from Clements, Md., is a recent graduate of Coastal Carolina University where he earned his bachelor's degree in Recreation and Sport Management in May 2010.  He worked with the RiverDogs in their advanced internship program this past season and excelled in the box office.

"For a young man who recently graduated from college, David possesses a good amount of experience in box office operations," said Echols.  "I was impressed with his eagerness to grasp our 'fans-first customer service approach' and his focus to details.  We were pleased with his work as an intern to the point that he earned this promotion."

The RiverDogs' intern program is regarded as one of the best in the region, and many former participants in that program are currently employed by the club.

As the box office manager, Cullins will organize and coordinate all operations of the Joseph P. Riley, Jr. box office.  One of his primary functions, however, is ensuring that RiverDogs fans' first contact with the ball club is a positive one while working to constantly improve all aspects of the ticket-purchasing experience.

Prior to joining the staff, Cullins worked for Firefly Sweet Tea Vodka and traveled the country to promote the beverage at various NFL and major college facilities.  He also spent time as a media relations intern with the Grand Prairie AirHogs in Grand Prairie, Texas.  He received his first employment working with The Ripken Experience in Myrtle Beach.
