Sand Gnats Release 2011 Schedule

Savannah, GA - The Savannah Sand Gnats are pleased to announce the game times and dates for their 2011 South Atlantic League Schedule. The Gnats' 2011 home opener at Historic Grayson Stadium will be Friday, April 15th, versus the Greenville Drive, the South Atlantic League affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, at 7:05 pm. The season's first homestand will feature nine-straight days of baseball and family fun, wrapping up on Saturday, April 23rd with the Gnats' second annual Hometown Heroes Day, a celebration of local law enforcement, first responders and our military. Hometown Heroes Day is a free community event championed by the Savannah Chatham-Metropolitan Police Department.

The Gnats will celebrate America's Independence Day at home on July 4, with a fireworks spectacular after Monday's special 6:05 pm start. Savannah's second-best July 4th Fireworks display is the only one to offer reserved seating and nine innings of America's Pastime, all for one low price. The Gnats will open the 2011 regular season in Charleston, West Virginia on April 7th at 7:05 pm.

Standard game times for the 2011 season will be 7:05 pm Monday through Friday, 6:05 pm on Saturdays and 2:05 pm on Sundays. Saturday games will be followed by fireworks presented by KIX96. Five games will have special times for first pitch. On Memorial Day weekend, the Gnats will play the Charleston RiverDogs on Sunday, May 29 at 6:05 pm with fireworks scheduled to follow the game. The two teams will then play a Memorial Day Matinee at noon on Monday, May 30. The Gnats will host a special Camp Day on July 26 at 11:05 am. Two additional Sunday games, which mark the start of new series, Sunday June 12 vs. Rome, and Sunday June 14 vs. Asheville, will begin at 6:05 pm.

The Sand Gnats are currently offering season seats, half season seats and Flex Plans for the 2011 season. Season seats guarantee the seat holders the best seats in the ballpark, guaranteed giveaways, VIP parking passes, discounted merchandise in the Sand Lot (the team souvenir store) and much more. Flex Plans, which include ten undated General Admission tickets and a bonus t-shirt, are available now for just $50 - a $20 savings compared to the regular price.

In 2010, the Sand Gnats won the Southern Division First-Half Championship and made the playoffs for the first time in 14 years. The team also opened Land Shark Landing, a new unique three-level deck that is perfect for parties, on July 4. A new full-service bar will be open atop Land Shark Landing for Opening Day.
