Fightins Announce Shining Lineup of Golden Bobblheads for Adults

The Reading Fightin Phils are celebrating their 50 Phillies Seasons, the longest affiliation in all of baseball, with a gigantic slate of golden bobbleheads featuring some of the most popular legends to call Baseballtown home on their way to stardom. Last week, the team released their 50 Phillies Seasons 50 Greatest Players after weeks of voting, and the most popular players from the fan vote were enshrined for the club's golden bobblehead giveaway nights in 2016.

Many of these players have been honored with a bobblehead in the past. However, these special 50 Phillies Seasons Golden Bobbleheads, plated in gold color in celebration of the "Golden Season", make these bobbleheads once-in-a-lifetime items.

On Saturday, April 9th, fans will receive a 50 Phillies Seasons Cole Hamels Golden Bobblehead thanks to Carpenter Technology Corporation. A former first round selection of the Phillies, Hamels made his way through Baseballtown in 2005, going 2-0 with a 2.37 ERA before going on to an illustrious career in the majors, highlighted by winning World Series MVP in 2008.

The Phillies All-Time Hits Leader will be featured on Saturday, April 23rd when Carpenter Technology Corporation present a 50 Phillies Seasons Jimmy Rollins Golden Bobblehead. The 2007 MVP spent most of his 1999 season in Reading before debuting with the Phillies in the following season.

Known to fans equally for baseball prowess and barbecue skills, Greg Luzinski will be a Golden Bobblehead on Monday, June 6th at the 15th Annual 9:35 a.m. Morning Game. Formerly the single-season home run leader with 33 homers in Reading, "The Bull" went on to win the 1970 Eastern League MVP and played 11 seasons with the Phillies.

Luzinski's record was snapped in 2004 by the Fightins' next Golden Bobblehead Ryan Howard thanks to Dieffenbach's Kettle Chips. Before winning Rookie of the Year and MVP with the Phillies, Howard slammed a then-record 37 home runs in just 102 games. The bobblehead will be presented on Tuesday, June 21st.

The man that led the Phillies World Series celebration down Broad Street in 2008, Pat Burrell will now be a Golden Bobblehead on Wednesday, July 27th thanks to Victor Emmanuel II Beneficial Society. The 1999 Reading alum drove in 90 runs on 28 home runs and 28 doubles in his standout season in Baseballtown.

Fan favorite Darren Daulton will be highlighted on a 50 Phillies Seasons Golden Bobblehead on Tuesday, August 2nd thanks to Penn State Health St. Joseph. A three-time All-Star, Daulton spent 14 years with the Phillies as a member of the infamous 1993 National League Champions and received his start in Reading in 1983.

Baseball's all-time greatest third baseman Mike Schmidt will be the final adult Golden Bobblehead giveaway on Tuesday, August 16th thanks to FirstEnergy. Schmidt hit his first professional home run in 1971 at Reading's FirstEnergy Stadium. After his time in Double-A, Schmidt went on to an illustrious 18-year major league career that was capped off by a Hall of Fame Induction in 1995.
