Pirate Great Kent Tekulve Headlines Breakfast
Tekulve, known as "Teke" for short, pitched 16 years in the majors with the Pirates, Phillies and Reds and won the World Series with Pittsburgh in 1979. The righty was 10-8 that year with a 2.75 ERA in 94 appearances. In 16 years Tekulve's ERA was under three an astounding 10 times.
"It's great to have somebody with Teke's background take some time away from Fantasy Camp and address our fans," said Pirates Director of Florida Operations Trevor Gooby. "Teke should give Marauder fans a good idea of the rich tradition associated with Pirates baseball."
A 1980 MLB All-star, Tekulve twice finished in the top five for Cy Young voting. He received six Hall-of-Fame votes in 1995.
Following his baseball career Tekulve moved to the broadcast booth from 1992-97 with Philadelphia.
