The 'Topes will be holding a preliminary meeting for those interested in the Society for American Baseball Research (SABR) on Saturday, January 29 at Isotopes Park!

The purpose of the meeting will be to gather existing SABR members and non-members together in an informal setting to discuss baseball, share details about various baseball research projects and to explore the feasibility of forming a central New Mexico SABR chapter.

Saturday, January 29, 2011 - 12:00 pm

Isotopes Park - Club Level

1601 Avenida Cesar Chavez SE

Albuquerque, NM 87106

SABR was formed in August 1971 to foster the research, preservation, and dissemination of the history and record of baseball. SABR's membership has grown to over 6,700 individuals from all walks of life, including many prominent writers, officials, and former players, from around the globe - each sharing interest in baseball research, statistics, or history.

The purpose of SABR is to foster the research, preservation, and dissemination of the history and record of baseball. SABR shall carry out that mission through programs:

  • To encourage the study of baseball, past and present, as a significant athletic and social institution
  • To encourage further research and literary efforts to establish and maintain the accurate historical record of baseball
  • To encourage the preservation of baseball research materials
  • To help disseminate educational, historical and research information about baseball.

If you are interested in attending, please RSVP via email to [email protected] or phone 505-222-4004. If you are unable to attend the meeting but are interested in forming a local SABR chapter, or would simply like more information about the Society for American Baseball Research, please contact the same address.
