40th Annual WBT SkyShow Ignites Uptown Skyline on July 4th at BB&T Ballpark

(UPTOWN CHARLOTTE, NC) - Baseball and fireworks once again unite in Uptown Charlotte on Monday, July 4th as BB&T Ballpark will play host to the 40th Annual WBT SkyShow. This year, the Charlotte Knights will be home on America's Birthday to host the Pawtucket Red Sox (Triple-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox) in a 6:05 p.m. game. Gates will open at 5:00 p.m. with the largest fireworks show in the Southeast on tap following the game.

"The tradition of baseball and fireworks on the Fourth of July in Uptown Charlotte will continue this year," stated Knights Chief Operating Officer Dan Rajkowski. "Much like last season, we are very pleased to be able to partner with News Talk 1110 WBT to bring the largest fireworks show of the year to the City of Charlotte and Mecklenburg County. This year, fans will even have a chance to watch their Knights in a home game on America's birthday."

Much like in past seasons, there will be events going on around the BB&T Ballpark area on July 4th, including the annual SkyShow Street Party on Mint Street. Food trucks, activities for kids, live music and more will take place outside of the Charlotte Knights kingdom beginning at 2:00 p.m. on Monday.

Single-game tickets for the 40th Annual WBT SkyShow will go on sale to the general public along with all 2016 regular season Knights games on Saturday, February 20 beginning at 9:00 a.m. at the BB&T Ballpark Ticket Office. Friday Night Fireworks, presented by News Talk 1110 WBT and BB&T, once again return this season for all 10 Friday night home games. This year, the Knights will light up the sky on 12 occasions starting with the first Friday home game of the season on Friday, April 15. The final fireworks show of the season will take place following the 7:05 p.m. game on Sunday, September 4.

Season tickets, as well as partial season ticket plans for the 2016 season, are on sale now and can be purchased in person at the BB&T Ballpark Ticket Office, online at CharlotteKnights.com, or by phone at 704-274-8300. Single game tickets for the 2016 season will go on sale to the general public starting at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 20.
