2016 Hooks Promo Calendar
CORPUS CHRISTI - When Hooks individual-game tickets go on sale Saturday, February 27, at the Whataburger Field Box Office, 361-561-HOOK, and cchooks.com, fans can zero in on games with the club's 2016 promotional calendar, announced Tuesday.
There are 16 giveaways, three postgame concerts, eight highly-interactive theme nights, and 17 fireworks shows, to mention a lot.
There's all that, and more.
"Our partners enable us to put together such a fun and exciting promotional calendar," Hooks president Ken Schrom said. "We couldn't do it without them. As a result, we're able to enhance the Whataburger Field fan experience."
CITGO's legendary monthly jersey series continues with a tribute to each U.S. military branch. Since 2009, Hooks fans have enjoyed 35 unique jerseys with seven different themes. Are you a cap collector? Pick up a Hooks Camo Cap (IBC Bank/June 30), Hooks Patriotic Cap (Ainsworth Trucking/July 2), Hooks Trucker Cap (Kleberg Bank/July 16), or Hooks Hunting Camo Cap (Coastal Bend Chevy Dealers/August 13). Hilliard Munoz Gonzales and Ashley Furniture provide comfortable and stylish Hooks Dri-Fit Shirts on June 12 and July 30, respectively.
Whataburger kicks off the premiums on Saturday, April 9, with a Hooks Beach Bag. Wigington Rumley Dunn & Blair commissioned a Jose Altuve Bobblehead for May 7. 1st Community Bank gives away a TV an inning in the Great Hooks TV giveaway on June 9, and STAR Orthodontics comes through with a Hooks Kids Toothbrush Holder four nights later.
The Caller-Times and Hooks partner on an educational thrust August 14, a book drive benefiting the Corpus Christi Public Library System.
JJ Weeks (April 8), Little Joe (May 28) and the Spazmatics (July 22) come to town for postgame concerts.
And then there are the theme nights, highlighted by five Radiology Associates events: Star Wars Night (April 22), Comic Christi Night (May 27), Team USA Night (June 10), Off to the Races Night (July 15), and Happy Birthday # Night (August 12).
"Those highly-participatory theme nights bring so much enjoyment to our crowds," Hooks ballpark entertainment director JD Davis said. "From dressing up to modifying our on-field contests to social media posts, they're just so much fun to plan and execute."
For example, on July 28, fans can witness what it would've been like to watch the 1970s-era Hooks, even though the club didn't exist. It's Hooks Faux Back Night with uniforms and music from "the ME decade."
So start going through those closets for some threads.
In-person sales begin Saturday at 10 a.m.; online and phone sales commence at noon.
