Shelter Box USA Holds Social Media Contest
In partnership with the Pittsburgh Pirates and Lumber Liquidators, ShelterBox USA, an international aid organization that provides shelter and lifesaving equipment to disaster survivors around the world, is holding a social media contest now through February 11, 2011.
Participants may enter for a chance to win airfare, hotel accommodations and two tickets to the Pirates spring training game against the Yankees on Tuesday, March 1, compliments of the Pittsburgh Pirates.
To enter, participants must recruit their Facebook friends to join ShelterBox's cause at www.causes.com/shelterbox. The participant who recruits the most friends through February 11 will win the prize package. Plus, for every new recruit, Lumber Liquidators will donate 10 cents to ShelterBox USA.
"After the devastating earthquake struck Haiti last year, we needed to find a way to help," said Tom Sullivan, Lumber Liquidators founder and chairman of the board. "ShelterBox was the answer. They were able to provide shelter and survival tools to the families who needed it most. The need continues all around the world today, and we're excited to continue our partnership through this contest."
The Pirates are also hosting ShelterBox Day during its spring training game on March 1. Supporters can join ShelterBox at the game where a ShelterBox tent and other equipment will be displayed. Supporters should email [email protected] or call (941) 907-6036 to order tickets through ShelterBox USA's office. Cost is $12 per ticket and checks should be made payable to "Pittsburgh Pirates."
