Sunday Family Day is Returning to Metro Bank Park

Each Sunday is loaded with fun for everyone in the family

In 2011, the Senators are again making Sunday a special day for families at Metro Bank Park. Each Sunday in 2011 is Family Day and is loaded with giveaways, food, and events specifically designed for families.

This is the third consecutive season for Rite Aid Family Day and Cost Cutters Kids Eat Free Sundays. The special day begins with the gates opening 90 minutes early, 4:30pm for the 6:00pm starts and 12:30pm for the 2:00pm starts.

The day begins with a giveaway at the gate as every Sunday the Senators will be handing out a premium giveaway item highlighted by a Canvas Beach Tote on 5/29, Beach Towel on 6/26 and two bobble head giveaways this year. The first bobble head giveaway is 7/17 and the second is 7/31.

After tucking away your giveaway, it is time to get your glove out for the Senators pre-game catch on the field. For approximately one-half hour before each Sunday game, kids of all ages can make their way to the field for a pre-game catch.

After the pre-game catch, kids 12 and under eat free courtesy of Cost Cutters. The kids receive a voucher good for a hot dog, chips, and a slush puppie. The voucher is good at several food locations throughout the park. Just look for the Cost Cutters Kids Eat Free table inside the main gate to receive your voucher.

If free food for your kids is not enough, Rite Aid is offering a coupon that is good for 4 box seats, 4 hot dogs and 4 sodas for just $24. Visit any participating Harrisburg area Rite Aid to pick-up your coupon.

The day isn't done until after the game is over when kids get to follow in the footsteps of their favorite Senators player and run the bases. This is the icing on the cake to a great time at Metro Bank Park.

Sunday game times this year are either 2:00pm or 6:00pm. It is the second consecutive season the Senators have had Sunday 6:00pm games. The 2:00pm game are 4/10 vs. Bowie; 5/8 vs. Reading; 6/12 vs. Akron; 6/26 vs. Altoona; 7/31 vs. Binghamton; and 8/21 vs. Erie. The 6:00pm games are 5/29 vs. Bowie; 7/17 vs. Akron; 8/14 vs. Trenton; and 9/4 vs. Akron.

The historic 25th season of Senators baseball opens on Thursday, April 7 at 7:00pm against the Bowie Baysox (Orioles). Season tickets, mini-plans, and group tickets are available by either going online at www.senatorsbaseball.com or by phoning the Senators at 717-231-4444.
