AutoZone Park holds Bellevue Baseball Camp
MEMPHIS, TN - This Saturday, February 12th, AutoZone Park will hold its first baseball camp for the congregation of Bellevue Baptist Church.
"Over the last several weeks, once we released to our folks that we were partnering with the Redbirds for a baseball/softball clinic the response has been overwhelmingly positive. I have had parents call and ask if they can attend just so they might learn some new drills and techniques to work with their kids, as well as coaches who are looking for fresh ideas to implement with their teams." explained Travis Moore, the Minister of Outdoor Sports at Bellevue Baptist Church.
Approximately 75 kids, ages 5-18, their coaches and parents will be in attendance for this unique instructional session. Each individual will receive insightful advice and guidance from current and former professional baseball players6 provided by the Memphis Baseball Academy and the Memphis Redbirds.
"I hate that we have to cut the number off at 75 because we are still receiving calls asking if they can sign their kids up." Moore continued. "This event will sort of kick off the season for us and bring a lot of excitement and enthusiasm to both players and coaches. We're looking forward to a great day at AutoZone Park this coming Saturday."
The camp includes drills and instruction in pitching, fielding, catching, hitting and base running. What better way for the Bellevue Baptist baseball and softball teams to jump-start their 2011 baseball season?
"The Memphis Redbirds are excited to be partnering up with Bellevue Baptist Church on a Baseball Camp at AutoZone Park. Not only will this be a great event for all the kids involved, it allows our staff to continue to engage the community during the offseason. This is a great opportunity to show what AutoZone Park can be used for all year long and we look forward to more events just like it." said Derek Goldfarb, Assistant General Manager and Director of Sales for the Memphis Redbirds.
