Sounds Extend Partnership With "The Game"

ESPN 102.5 FM The Game Enters 5th Season of Broadcasting All Sounds Games
March 4, 2016

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Nashville Sounds Baseball Club and ESPN 102.5 "The Game" (WPRT-FM) are pleased to announce the continued partnership as the team's flagship radio station for game broadcasts during the 2016 season.

The Game has served as the team's flagship station since 2012 and will air the majority of the Sounds' 144 games on 102.5 FM with select games coming over the airwaves on sister station, ESPN 94.9 FM "Game 2."

"We are excited to continue our relationship with The Game," said Garry Arthur, Sounds' COO and general manager. "It is comforting to partner with a sports station that is continuing to grow, and we are pleased that this provides our fans a familiarity with where to find our broadcasts."

Games to be broadcast on 94.9 FM include April 7, April 9, and any potential Nashville Predators playoff games that would conflict with Sounds games.

"We are excited to continue broadcasting the Sounds games on our stations. As a local business, we are proud of the affiliation and we look forward to spending even more time at First Tennessee Park this year with the Wednesday noon games," said Jana Hampton, Market Manager, Cromwell Radio Nashville.

Jeff Hem will handle the play-by-play duties for all broadcasts in his fifth season in Nashville. For the second straight season, Hem will be joined by former Major League pitcher Kevin Jarvis for select broadcasts as color commentator. Jarvis appeared for 10 Major League teams during his 15-year pro career and also pitched for the Sounds in 2004.

As in previous seasons, all game broadcasts will also be available to Sounds fans via live internet webcast based at www.nashvillesounds.com as well as on mobile devices using The Game's app or the TuneIn Radio app.

Broadcasts will begin approximately 15 minutes prior to first pitch and will include a postgame show. The partnership will also include the annual broadcast of the Triple-A All-Star Game, which is scheduled for Wednesday, July 13 in Charlotte, N.C.

102.5 The Game's baseball coverage also includes broadcasts of ESPN's "Sunday Night Baseball" when there isn't a conflict with a Sounds broadcast. The station also serves as the flagship station for the NHL's Nashville Predators and airs Middle Tennessee State University football and men's basketball games, and is simulcast on 97.5 FM in Rutherford County.

The 2016 season will be the Sounds' 19th year in the Pacific Coast League and their second as the Oakland Athletics' top affiliate. The Sounds begin the season at First Tennessee Park when they host the Oklahoma City Dodgers on Thursday, April 7 at 6:35 p.m. Season ticket memberships are available now by calling (615) 690-4487 or by visiting www.nashvillesounds.com.
