Great Carew to speak at Owlz dinner
"Having an all-time hero, role model and Hall of Famer like Rod Carew join us in Utah County is an honor and a privilege," said Owlz majority owner Jeff Katofsky. "I can't wait."
In his twelve seasons with the Minnesota Twins, and seven with the California Angels, Carew amassed 3,053 hits and had a lifetime batting average of .328, with 15 consecutive seasons batting over .300. He is one of only three players (Willie Mays, and Cal Ripken Jr.) to have won both the Rookie of the Year (1967), the Most Valuable Player (1977), and induction into baseball's Hall of Fame (1991) on his first year of eligibility. His number 29 has been retired by both the Twins and the Angels.
"For all baseball fans in Utah, this will be an event you will not want to miss", said Jason Badell, Owlz General Manager.
