Rolling With Louie
Baysox Community Programs Manager Dana DeFilippo planned the event with Louie. "Louie is excited to see all his friends in the kids club," DeFilippo said. "He played Laser Tag with club members in December, and Louie just could not wait for the season to start to see everyone again."
The party is open to all club members and their families. Tickets are $6 for all kids. Tickets are $6adults who intend to skate, adults who do not intend to skate may attend for free. Club members receive a free goody bag. The ticket includes skate rental and the facility has skates to accommodate kids as young as three years old. Louie and the Baysox are only available until the party officially ends at 4 p.m., but guests are invited to skate until the facility closes at 6 p.m. To order tickets, fans may call Dana at (301) 464-4855. Tickets must be ordered by Tuesday, March 1, at 5 p.m.
Louie's Kids Club is free and easy to join. Fans ages three to 12 can sign up at www.baysox.com or at any Baysox home game. The team hosts an exclusive kids club event each month of the season, and members receive a free gift at a future Baysox game, limit one per child per season. This year's gift is a black and orange drawstring backpack.
Baysox Director of Marketing Brandan Kaiser thinks Louie will surprise fans with his skating ability. "Louie may be big and green, but he's very agile," Kaiser said. "I think it is because Louie gets 60 minutes of physical activity in every day through the Baysox Play Today program."
The Play Today Program debuted in 2010 and encourages kids to get up, get out and get fit with 60 minutes of physical activity each day. To encourage kids to remain active, the team has an activity page at www.baysox.com. The team intends to host several Play Today events at Prince George's Stadium and local schools this season.
The Baysox open the 2011 season on the road in Harrisburg Thursday, April 7. They play their first game at Prince George's Stadium Thursday, April 14, at 7:05 p.m. Baysox ticket packages are now available. Click HERE for more information on 2011 ticket packages.
