David Adams was drafted by the New York Yankees in the 3rd round of the 2008 MLB June Amateur Draft. Adams joined the Tampa Yankees for the second half of the 2009 season after being promoted from the Charleston River Dogs. Playing second base and batting in the second spot in the line-up Adams helped the Tampa Yankees win the 2009 Florida State League Championship.

Adams made quite an impression in the 65 games he played for the T-Yanks. In 231 at bats Adams had a solid .281 batting average, with seven homeruns and 41 RBI's. Adams also contributed in the field with 170 assists and only 5 errors (.982 Fielding %).

In 2010 Adams got off to a hot start with the New York Yankees Double-A affiliate, the Trenton Thunder. He was almost a part of a near trade to the Seattle Mariners but was injured before the trade went through. Adams played in 39 games before an ankle injury sidelined him for the remainder of the 2010 season. In 173 at bats Adams hit for a .309 batting average, had three home runs, and 32 RBI.

Adams looks to continue to impress his coaches as he climbs the ranks to the big leagues. He is going to get a lot of looks this spring as he gets his chance to play with Major League caliper players.
