Age: 22 Bats: Right Throws: Right Height: 6'8" Weight: 245

Dellin Betances was drafted by the New York Yankees in the 8th round of the 2006 MLB June Amateur Draft. Betances joined the Tampa Yankees in 2009 a highly touted prospect. He came back in 2010 and lived up to all his hype. In back to back season's Betances helped the T-Yanks win two Florida State League titles.

Bentaces made 11 starts for Tampa in 2009, but struggled with control issues. In 44.1 innings Betances posted a 2-5 record, struck out 44 batters, but walked 27. Betances bounced back in 2010 with 14 impressive starts, and his numbers stacked up against anybody's. He dominated hitters in 71 innings of work by striking out 88 batters and proved he fixed any control issues he might have had by only walking 19. With his 1.77 ERA and 8-1 win/loss record, Betances received enough attention to get called up to the New York Yankees Double-A affiliate Trenton Thunder for the last part of the season.

Betances made three starts for the Trenton Thunder and posted good numbers. In 14.1 innings he struck out 20 batters while only walking three. Betances made huge strides in his 2010 season and will get the chance to continue to impress his coaches this Spring Training.
