Baseballtown Takes a Scoop of Yuengling's Ice Cream (and Milkshakes!)

A classic brand will make its debut to FirstEnergy Stadium in 2016 when the Reading Fightin Phils begin serving Yuengling's Ice Cream at the ballpark as part of a new partnership between the two organizations. 

"We love partnering with locally-owned family businesses whenever possible and Yuengling's Ice Cream is exactly that---and with a tremendously recognizable name," said Fightins General Manager Scott Hunsicker. "Plus, Yuengling's Ice Cream is all natural, using local milk and cream that has no added hormones. They produce all of their ice cream in a small dairy in central Pennsylvania, and source all of their ingredients from local suppliers. It's a high quality ice cream that our fans are going to absolutely love."

Originally founded in 1920, Frank Yuengling founded a dairy business during Prohibition to support the family brewery in Pottsville. Yuengling Dairy Products delighted many for over 65 years to generations of Pennsylvanians. But, in 1985, the brand came to an end when the Yuengling Family stopped production and closed the plant.

In 2014, though, David Yuengling brought back popular tradition as Yuengling's Ice Cream, Pennyslvania's finest tasty treat. Made in a small dairy in central Pennsylvania, the all-natural product is made with local milk and cream that has no added hormones.

Yuengling's Ice Cream features a vast selection of unique flavors and will be featuring a collection of some of their most popular flavors in Baseballtown this summer. Around the ballpark, the Fightins will carry traditional favorites like vanilla and chocolate in addition to Black and Tan, a swirl of rich Belgian Chocolate Ice Cream and Salty Caramel Ice Cream. 

Another new addition to FirstEnergy Stadium this summer will be milkshakes exclusively at the Frozen Stand in the Tompkins VIST Bank Plaza. Featuring the delectable tastes from Yuengling's Ice Cream, these authentic and made-to-order milkshakes will make for a refreshing treat for everyone in the family during the summer months.

The 2016 season opens up with the Phillies Futures Game between the Phillies and top prospects in the organization on March 31st in Baseballtown.
