Headed to Atlanta

Ben Ingram receives his calling as Atlanta's Post Game Show Host

For Immediate Release: Monday, February 21, 2011

Pearl, MS - The Mississippi Braves are proud to announce Ben Ingram, the voice of the Mississippi Braves, has accepted a position with Dickey Broadcasting and the Atlanta Braves Radio Network. After three years of hard work and voicing the play-by-play for M-Braves games, Ingram will now be covering the Atlanta Braves on 680 The Fan. In his newly accepted position, Ingram will now serve as the Braves post game show host as well as provide coverage for the pre-game show and assist in conducting on-field interviews.

"We are extremely happy to have Ben as part of our Braves Radio Network in 2011," said Derek Schiller, Atlanta Braves executive vice president of Sales and Marketing. "He has a thorough understanding of our organization and has a unique outlook of our players, having seen many of them come through Mississippi."

Ingram, who has been a corner stone in the Braves organization at the Minor League level, has seen a Southern League Championship and has been presented the Southern League Broadcaster of the year award in 2009. As a truly valuable asset to the team, he will be missed and his shoes hard to fill.

When news of his promotion came to light, M-Braves General Manager Steve DeSalvo stated, "We are extremely excited for Ben. This is a great opportunity for Ben to move up to the big leagues from Mississippi. This is just another example of talent we are able to help develop on the field and off the field as well. Ben is one of the best sports radio talents I've seen in a long time, and we wish him nothing but success in Atlanta."

When asked about relocating to the Major Leagues, Ingram said, "This is the opportunity of a life time and a dream come true for me. Words can't express how supremely honored I am to represent the Atlanta Braves and Dickey Broadcasting. Everyone that is involved with the Braves broadcast is extremely talented and first class. It will be such a privilege to work with them, as well as learn from them."

As Ingram continues his career in Atlanta, he has definitely set a high standard that is hard to match in central Mississippi.

The Mississippi Braves begin the 2011 season at home on April 7. They will face the Jackson Generals, formerly the West Tenn. Diamond Jaxx. 2011 season tickets, which include a wide variety of NEW BENEFITS, are on sale now at Trustmark Park's Box Office or by calling 888-BRAVES4.
