Timber Rattlers Establish New Charity Fund

Team will work with Community Foundation on new charitable initiative
March 15, 2016

GRAND CHUTE, WI - The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers are establishing the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers Fund with the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region to benefit the Midwest League team's charitable causes.

In 2015, the affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers made contributions to Miracle League of the Fox Valley, Make-A-Wish® Wisconsin, Fox Valley Veterans Emergency Fund, Children's Hospital of Wisconsin, Alzheimer's Association of Greater Wisconsin, United Way of the Fox Cities, and numerous other organizations. The amounts given to charity in 2015 were over $20,000 in cash and another $250,000 of in-kind donations.

"The Timber Rattlers are excited to establish the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers Fund through the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region," said Dayna Baitinger, Director of Community Relations for the team. "The Timber Rattlers are fortunate to live in a supportive community and the team works hard to develop and implement programs and events to give back to the community. This fund will help support the team's charitable causes."

The Timber Rattlers Fund will continue to support area charities through their annual golf outing, jersey auctions, and various other fundraisers.

The Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region was established thirty years ago to help people, businesses and organizations create charitable funds to fulfill their giving goals. Their donors have enabled the Community Foundation to award more than $221 million in grants to nonprofits since 1986.

The Timber Rattlers will begin the 2016 season at Beloit on Thursday, April 7. Wisconsin's home opener is Saturday, April 9 at 4:05pm against the Beloit Snappers.
