JetHawks To Host Golden League High School Baseball Series

Local Teams to Face Off In Series Presented by McDonald's

LANCASTER, CA - The Lancaster JetHawks announced the return of high school baseball at the Hangar on Monday with the introduction of the Golden League High School Baseball Series, presented by McDonald's. Eight local Antelope Valley Union High Schools will face off against each other in league play at the home of the JetHawks, minor league affiliate of the Houston Astros.

"We are excited to once again have high school baseball at The Hangar," said JetHawks Executive Vice-President Tom Backemeyer. "It is a great opportunity to showcase local talent and highlight these student-athletes on a larger stage."

All games will be played at 6:00pm, and entry will cost $3 per person. Kids 12 and under, as well as students with ASB cards from the participating schools will be FREE.  Gates will open at 4:30pm for all games.

Wednesday, April 6th - Palmdale (away) vs Littlerock (home)

Friday, April 29th - Knight (away) vs Highland (home)

Tuesday, May 3rd - Eastside (home) vs Antelope Valley (home)

Wednesday, May 4th - Quartz Hill (away) vs Lancaster (home)

 

"McDonald's and The Marroquin Family are excited to continue their support of Antelope Valley student athletes." said McDonald's Owner/Operator Hernando Marroquin.

Proceeds from the Golden League High School Baseball Series will benefit the Ronald McDonald House as well as the athletic departments from the participating schools.  The Marroquin Family has set a goal of raising $50,000 for the Ronald McDonald Children's Charities of Southern California, through the in-store Canister Program, the sale of the Antelope Valley Press in our McDonald's restaurants, and ticket sales for the Lancaster JetHawks special programs such as the Golden League High School Baseball Series.
