The Dell Diamond to Host Post-Game Concert Series
ROUND ROCK, Texas - Ryan Sanders Entertainment announced on Monday plans for the 2011 St. David's Round Rock Express Summer Concert Series Presented by Dell.
Beginning in May and ending in August, one concert per month will be held on The Dell Diamond's newly constructed concert stage just beyond centerfield. The post-game concert series will include four performing artists - Asleep at the Wheel on May 28, Jack Ingram on June 18, Lou Gramm on July 2 and Jonathan Tyler & the Northern Lights on Aug. 6.
Each concert will begin approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of that night's Express game, which will all have a special 6:05 p.m. start time. Fans will be allowed to go onto the field to watch the concert.
Tickets for the Express games on these nights also are good for the post-game concerts.
"This is another added value for season ticket holders and suite holders," Express President Dave Fendrick said. "We appreciate the support from St. David's Round Rock and Dell, two of our best partners, who have stepped up to create a really unique partnership for our fans this summer."
Ryan Sanders Executive Vice President J.J. Gottsch said this concert series is a natural fit for The Dell Diamond.
"We are very excited to announce the summer concert series here at The Dell Diamond," Gottsch said. "With the proximity of our stadium to Austin, the Live Music Capital of the World, we thought it would be only natural to bring some of that live music talent to the ballpark."
The announcement of the St. David's Round Rock Express Summer Concert Series Presented by Dell comes on the heels of the announcement that The Dell Diamond will host the Grammy Award-winning Zac Brown Band on April 17.
Tickets for the Zac Brown show will go on sale to the general public this Friday, March 4, while tickets for the summer concert series will go on sale the following day, Saturday, March 5 - the same time as all regular season Express home games.
The Dell Diamond has hosted many concerts and artists in the past, including Bob Dylan, Willie Nelson, John Mellencamp, Jerry Jeff Walker, Kellie Pickler, Clint Black and Tracy Lawrence, in addition to annual events like the Reckless Kelly Celebrity Softball Jam and Live in the Ballpark.

About the performers:
ASLEEP AT THE WHEEL - May 28 br> Since the early '70s, Asleep at the Wheel has been the most important force in keeping the sound of Western swing alive. In reviving the freewheeling, eclectic sensibility of Western swing, the Wheel has earned enthusiastic critical praise throughout their lengthy career. They have not only preserved classic sounds that had all but disappeared from country music, but have also been able to update the music, keeping it a living, breathing art form. Asleep's frontman, Ray Benson, has kept the Wheel a viable recording and touring concern for four decades, while maintaining their devotion to classic-style Western swing. A swingin' time will be had by all, May 28 at The Dell Diamond.
JACK INGRAM - June 18 br> With songs that mix a subtle background of alt-country and folk, with a hefty dose of roots rock - this modern-day honky tonker first carved out a niche for himself in the bars and roadhouses between Dallas and Houston. By the mid-'90s, after extensive touring with his Beat Up Ford Band, Jack released two well-received independent albums and by 2008 had won the "Best New Male Vocalist" award from the Academy of Country Music - even though he was anything but new. One of country music's finest songsmiths will perform on The Dell Diamond stage June 18.
LOU GRAMM and his band - July 2 br> The voice of a generation, as powerhouse vocalist of multi-platinum band FOREIGNER, Lou Gramm's songs can be heard each and every day, all over the world, on Radio, Ipods, CD players, music videos and of course jukeboxes. With 20 top forty singles, propelling nearly 80 million albums sold, Lou's career with Foreigner, has put him in a class that pushes him into the Rock N' Roll stratosphere. Along with Lou's solo hits, such as "You Can't Do That," this summer you will also hear the incredible string of Foreigner hit songs - "Hot Blooded," "Juke Box Hero," "Feels Like The First Time," "Cold As Ice," "Urgent," "Waiting For A Girl Like You" and many more. July 2 at The Dell Diamond, will be an amazing trip down the road to the Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame, where you will hear one of popular music's most significant voices, Lou Gramm.
JONATHAN TYLER AND THE NORTHERN LIGHTS - Aug. 6 br> Contrary to doomsayer rumor, rock music doesn't need saving. But a wake‐up call is long overdue, and this is it. Actually, not just a wake‐up call, but a joyous reunion of rock with its oft‐forgotten prodigal twin, the roll ‐ with papa blues and mama soul along for the ride, too. All of which make the perfect introduction for Jonathan Tyler And The Northern Lights as one of the most electrifying young bands in America. Their hot new single, "Gypsy Woman," is tearing up the music charts, and is in heavy rotation on local radio's "The Rock of Austin" 93.7FM KLBJ. One of Texas' best live bands will rock The Dell Diamond centerfield stage, on Aug. 6.
