Tiemann Named Voice of the Voyagers

St. Louis Native Makes Jump to Affiliated Baseball

Great Falls, MT-The Great Falls Voyagers announced today that veteran broadcaster Shawn Tiemann will join the team's front office as the new radio broadcaster for the 2016 Pioneer League season. Tiemann will handle media relations and serve as the play-by-play voice for all 76 Voyagers games on Fox Sports Radio 1400 AM and 98.3 FM. The Voyagers are the rookie affiliate of the Chicago White Sox.

Tiemann spent last season in the independent American Association as the Director of Broadcasting and Media Relations for the Joplin Blasters. He worked his first season of minor league baseball in 2013 with the Laredo Lemurs. In 2014, Tiemann served as a broadcast and media relations assistant for the Sioux City Explorers.

Shawn brings over 15 years of radio and television play-by-play experience to Great Falls. He has called baseball at various levels, including high school, American Legion, and summer collegiate. Shawn has been a fill-in for Rogers State University baseball the last several years. He is currently the voice of Rogers State (NCAA Division 2) men's and women's basketball and broadcasts high school football as well. Shawn has also provided fill-in work for John Brown University, Northeastern State, Oral Roberts University, and South Dakota State.

"I'm so grateful to have been chosen for this opportunity with the Voyagers. I'm very thankful to GM Scott Reasoner and the rest of the Great Falls front office for entrusting me with this position," Tiemann said. "It's been a goal of mine to serve as a lead broadcaster in affiliated baseball, and to reach that in the historic Pioneer League is highly rewarding."

Shawn is a proud native of St. Louis, Missouri. His broadcasting career has included stops in Illinois, Kansas, and Oklahoma. Tiemann currently resides in Tulsa with his wife, Lorena, and 10-year-old son, Xavier.
