Greater Nevada Field announced as new stadium name for Aces, Reno 1868 FC

March 17, 2016

RENO - SK Baseball, LLC and Reno Soccer Investors, LLC, in conjunction with Greater Nevada Credit Union (GNCU), announced Thursday a multi-year partnership and naming-rights agreement for the home venue of the Reno Aces Baseball Club and Reno 1868 Football Club to be known as Greater Nevada Field, effective immediately.

"We're very pleased to enter into this new partnership with the Aces," said Greater Nevada President and Chief Executive Officer, Wally Murray. "We believe we share a mutual commitment toward encouraging continued economic revitalization and community development in our region. We're looking forward to Greater Nevada Field becoming a year-round venue that hosts a variety of events and programs, and provides a multitude of safe and enjoyable experiences for families, individuals and groups."

Thursday's announcement marks an exciting milestone as Greater Nevada Field enters its eighth season as the home of the Aces, the Triple-A affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks. The 9,100+ capacity venue has seen 27 sellout crowds since it opened on April 17, 2009, including a turn in the national spotlight on July 17, 2013, when Reno hosted the Triple-A All-Star Game.

"We are focused on continuing to unite our community through the variety of events held here at Greater Nevada Field," said Eric Edelstein, president of the Reno Aces and Reno 1868 FC. "Partnering with Greater Nevada Credit Union to move this vision forward crystalizes our commitment. No longer just a ballpark, Greater Nevada Field is here to be the premier experience in Northern Nevada."

The 15-year agreement between GNCU, the Aces and Reno 1868 FC includes exclusive sponsorship and advertising rights and prominent signage on the ballpark's exterior façade along Evans Avenue and Kuenzli Street, the scoreboard in left-center field and numerous locations throughout the ballpark.

Greater Nevada Credit Union and its affiliates will host a wide variety of season-long special events, all designed to make the sports experience greater and to engage the community. The credit union also will be the lead partner on the Aces ticket fundraising program, which raised more than $130,000 last season and is expected to surpass this amount in 2016. All money raised was by local non-profits to stay in the Northern Nevada community.

Established in 1949 and headquartered in Carson City, GNCU is a member-owned, full-service financial institution serving more than 51,000 consumers and small businesses. GNCU has more than $585 million in assets and branches throughout Northern Nevada, including four in Washoe County. GNCU's subsidiaries include Greater Nevada Mortgage and Greater Nevada Insurance.

The Aces open the 2016 season on Thursday, April 7 at 6:35 p.m. vs. El Paso at Greater Nevada Field. Ticket packages and single-game tickets are on-sale now at www.RenoAces.com or by calling (775) 334-4700.
