PORTLAND, MAINE - New England Patriots running back Dion Lewis is scheduled to make an appearance at Hadlock Field on Tuesday, May 3rd, when the Portland Sea Dogs host the Binghamton Mets at 6:00 PM. Lewis' appearance at Hadlock Field is presented by Asylum Sports Bar & Grill.
Lewis will throw out the ceremonial first pitch and be available to sign free autographs on photos provided by the Sea Dogs for fans from 6:00 to 7:00 PM.
Lewis was signed by the Patriots as a free agent on February 6, 2015. He was originally drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in the fifth round (149th overall) in the 2011 NFL Draft out of the University of Pittsburgh. The 25-year-old appeared in seven games this season for the Patriots and gained 234 yards on 49 carries (4.78 yards/carry) while also catching 36 passes for 388 yards (10.78 yards/reception). Lewis combined for four touchdowns - two rushing and two receiving - before being placed on season-ending injury reserve in November with a torn ACL.
Lewis had previously spent two seasons with the Eagles and one with the Indianapolis Colts, but had never started a game until the Patriots' 2015-16 season opener on September 10th vs. Pittsburgh. Lewis recorded 120 yards from scrimmage on 20 touches and set career highs with 69 rushing yards on 15 carries and 51 receiving yards on four catches.
