Austin Krum was drafted by the New York Yankees in the 9th round of the 2007 MLB June Amateur Draft. Krum was a member of the Tampa Yankees for 53 games during the 2009 season. He spent 2010 playing for the Double-A, Trenton Thunder.
Krum posted decent numbers in 2009, which got him promoted mid-way through the season. In his 53 games, he had 191 at-bats, and had a .272 batting average, with 32 runs scored and 14 RBI. In centerfield, Krum maintained a .992 fielding percentage, with only one error.
In 2010, Krum played in 120 games for Double-A Trenton totaling 459 at-bats. He had 105 hits, 77 runs scored, and five homeruns. He also had 44 RBI, and stole 16 bases. He kept his position in center field and finished with a .990 fielding percentage.
Krum is displaying his skills to the coaches this spring, as he is gaining experiences and exposure that will help him in the upcoming 2011 season.
