Through unique, innovative partnership, Weidenhammer to present drone cam at Fightins home games
March 24, 2016

Ever want to take a bird's eye view of FirstEnergy Stadium? How about see the vantage point of a monstrous home run hit by one of the Fightins?

This season, fans will able to see all of that and more through the Fightin Phils Drone Cam powered by Weidenhammer. Through the two organizations' innovative partnership, the cam will be incorporated into the game entertainment in Reading this season. The announcement adds to the cutting-edge technology Weidenhammer is presenting to fans at FirstEnergy Stadium, beginning with the Free WiFi available via the MiLB In the Park app for smartphones.

Before each home game, the Fightin Phils Drone Cam powered by Weidenhammer will fly above FirstEnergy Stadium, filming high-definition video, snapping fan photos and first pitches, and tons more fun. At select games, the cam will be in use at America's Classic Ballpark showing a live broadcast of in-between inning contests and on-field performances along with showing footage recorded from earlier such as players taking batting practice or warming up.

Videos and photos taken by the Fightin Phils Drone Cam powered by Weidenhammer will be posted daily on social media, giving fans an unique perspective during the team's 50th season affiliated with the Philadelphia Phillies.

This is no normal drone---this is a custom-made AVIC drone by Onuku.

"Thanks to Weidenhammer, we are introducing a state of the art drone to the fan experience," said Fightins General Manager Scott Hunsicker. "Other teams might have drones, but no team will have anything with the capabilities of this Onuku AVIC. I mean, we can drop an iPhone in the back pocket of the Crazy Hot Dog Vendor, and have the drone fly 50 feet above his head at all times. How cool is that!"

Onuku Industries has designed a 650mm Quadcop Elite Series AVIC (Aerial Vehicle for Information Collection) for the Fightins. Onuku Industries, a company founded by three engineering graduates from Pennsylvania State University, sees the demand for high-end, customized drones that help to increase efficiency in a multitude of businesses and industries.
