Team Introduces 'Johnny Rosenblatt Legacy Seats'
The seats are a nod to Rosenblatt the man, not just in his dedication to baseball in Omaha but to his tireless devotion to community service.
"As we move into a new era of Triple-A baseball, we continue to make sure that we pay tribute to our roots that began at Rosenblatt Stadium 42 years ago," said Martie Cordaro, the Vice President and General Manager of the Storm Chasers. "Johnny Rosenblatt was the preeminent steward of community service in Omaha, and people in the community will continue to benefit from his vision."
The Storm Chasers are asking local residents for their help nominating community members who have recently experienced financial hardship, personal loss, a devastating circumstance that has affected their lives, or an individual who has endlessly given their time volunteering in the community. That person and up to three guests will be given an escape from the challenges of their everyday life and become part of the Omaha Storm Chasers family.
Steve Rosenblatt, Johnny's son, was thankful for the Storm Chasers' commitment to his father's memory.
"Johnny always wanted to assist those that may not have had the opportunity to enjoy a professional baseball game," he said.
Deserving individuals may be nominated in the form of an essay of 250 words or less, describing why that person deserves a night in the Johnny Rosenblatt Legacy Seats. Seventy-two individuals will be selected over the course of the season and will be appropriately recognized prior to a Storm Chasers home game.
