Alford shines as Bisons win, 4-3
The Buffalo Bisons defeated the Indianapolis Indians, 4-3, on Sunday afternoon from Bradenton, FL. The Herd has now won three of its last four games to run its Spring exhibition record to 4-5.
The Bisons will play three more Spring games before breaking camp over the weekend to head to Buffalo for final preparations for the 2016 season.
On Sunday, the Herd erased a 2-0 deficit with single runs in the fourth, fifth, seventh and ninth innings. Blue Jays' #1 prospect by MLB.com, OF ANTHONY ALFORD went 2-5 with a double, an RBI and a run scored. OF DWIGHT SMITH also had two hits (2-2) along with a walk and an RBI.
The win in relief went to LHP CHAD GIRODO, who worked the final 1.2 innings of the game and allowed just a walk and a hit. RHP SCOTT COPELAND started for Buffalo and scattered eight hits over three innings of work.
