Pulaski third baseman makes Mariners top prospect list

Baseball America ranks Ramon Morla number 14 on the top prospect list of the Mariners organization
March 15, 2011
PULASKI - Baseball America's Prospect Handbook, which has been a reliable resource for prospects in minor league baseball, has come out with the Top 30 Prospects in the Mariners organization.

The list is headed by No. 1 prospect Dustin Ackley, who split his time last season between the West Tennessee Diamond Jaxx (AA) and the Tacoma Rainiers (AAA). Ackley was Seattle's first round pick of the 2009 MLB June Amateur Draft.

But Pulaski Mariner fans will be more impressed to see the familiar face of Ramon Morla on the list. And not only did Morla make the list, but he was named No. 14. Morla spent all of the 2010 season in Pulaski, leading the offense with 17 homeruns and 49 RBIs.

According to Baseball America, the 2011 Baseball America Prospect Handbook gives 900 scouting reports--ranking the top 30 players from each organization--with career statistics and complete breakdowns of their strengths and weaknesses. The handbook can be found on their website. Here is a list of the Top 30 Prospects of the Mariners organization, according to Baseball America:
