BLUE ROCKS MASCOT UNVEILS HIS NEW LOOK
Inspired by the students of the University of Delaware's UDress Magazine, Rocky received a warm reception as he strutted his way down the red carpet runway to show off his new look for the first time.
Rocky decided it was time to update his image to match the Blue Rocks' new logo that was unveiled roughly a year ago. The color grew on Rocky (literally) over time, and the metamorphosis was finally completed during this offseason.
The mascot will still be the same fun-loving moose everyone has grown to adore over the years, just in a more current shade of blue. His first official appearance with the new look was at Dick's Sporting Goods Little League Day in Christiana on Saturday, March 12 where he received an overwhelmingly positive reaction. His next appearance will be at the Boys and Girls Club Skate Party with fellow mascot Reggy: The Purple Party Dude on Sunday, March 20.
In his spare time, Rocky is busy with a new challenge, as his Happy Healthy Kids Program is underway. The mascot is motivating area kids to pledge to make a positive change for their health. Participants in the program, which is designed to help in the fight against childhood obesity, will earn tickets to a Blue Rocks game where they will be recognized for their achievement.
You can always see Rocky Bluewinkle when Blue Rocks baseball returns to Frawley Stadium on Friday, April 15 as the Blue Crew hosts the Potomac Nationals (Washington Nationals) at 7:05 p.m. For tickets call 302-888-BLUE or CLICK HERE.
