Colorado Rockies Set First Ever Hartford Yard Goats Roster
Hartford, Conn- The Hartford Yard Goats Baseball Club, the Double-A Eastern League affiliate of the Colorado Rockies, has announced its 25-man Opening Day Roster. The Rockies, who provide the Yard Goats with players and coaching staff, have assigned several of baseball's top Major League prospects to Hartford, including two #1 picks (OF David Dahl, LHP Kyle Freeland), and one #2 pick (3B Ryan McMahon). Berlin native RHP Matt Carasiti (Berlin High School/ St. John's University), who led the High-A Modesto club in saves last season has made the Yard Goats club as well. The Colorado Rockies minor league system recently ranked 3rd among all 30 Major League clubs on the MLB.com listings.
The first ever Hartford Yard Goats roster includes five of the Rockies' Top 10 overall prospects rated by Baseball America and six of the Rockies' Top 15 overall prospects listed by MLB.com. Two players heading to Hartford are already on the Rockies' 40-man Major League roster (P Antonio Senzatela and OF Raimel Tapia) and one played in the Major League's last season with the San Francisco Giants ( C-Jackson Williams).
Six players were invited to Major League Spring Training as non-roster players (Carasiti, Dahl, Freeland, OF Rosell Herrera, RHP German Marquez, McMahon). The roster consists of 13 pitchers and 12 position players. The complete Hartford Yard Goats roster is attached in PDF Format.

The Hartford Yard Goats will begin their inaugural season on Thursday, April 7 at 1:05 PM in Richmond, Virginia against the San Francisco Giants affiliate, the Richmond Flying Squirrels.
