IronPigs Shut Out Indians 3-0

BRADENTON, Fla. -- The Lehigh Valley IronPigs held Indianapolis to just one hit after the fourth inning and went on to defeat the Indians 3-0 on Tuesday, March 22 at Pirate City in Bradenton, Fla.
Lehigh Valley RHP Vance Worley (4.0 IP, 5 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 4 K) surrendered five hits in his four innings of work before RHP Justin De Fratus (3.0 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 3 K), LHP Juan Perez (1.0 IP, 0 H, 0 R) and RHP Matt Anderson (1.0 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K) combining to allow one hit the rest of the way. De Fratus allowed one hit in three innings to earn the victory while Anderson pitched a perfect ninth to notch the save.
The Indians' hurlers were just as solid through the first seven frames, with the trio of RHP Jeff Karstens (4.0 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 4K), LHP Tony Watson (2.0 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K) and RHP Ramon Aguero (1.0 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K) holding the IronPigs scoreless on just four hits.
Lehigh Valley would break the scoring drought in the eighth inning with an RBI double from INF Carlos Rivera. Rivera would take advantage of an Indians defensive miscue and score later in the frame to push their lead to two. The IronPigs, managed by Chicago Cubs Hall of Famer Ryne Sandberg, would tack on an additional insurance run in the ninth inning when OF Tim Kennelly scored on OF Chris Frey's sacrifice fly.
