April 7, 2016

BOWIE, Md. - The Bowie Baysox announce today the 2016 Opening Day Roster. The roster features just four players who did not appear with the team last season and only one player new to the Orioles organization. Some of the top prospects in the Orioles organization will also begin the year in Bowie. Chance Sisco, Trey Mancini, Chris Lee and Jason Garcia are all among MLB.com's Top 15 Orioles prospects.

The starting rotation is expected to include RHP Joe Gunkel, RHP David Hess, LHP Ariel Miranda, LHP Chris Lee and RHP Jason Garcia. Three of the six pitchers were in the starting rotation for the Baysox during the Eastern League playoffs last season and all of them appeared with the Baysox during the 2015 season.

This year's Opening Night roster features 16 players who were on the team's 2015 Eastern League playoff roster. The list of returnees includes ELCS MVP Garabez Rosa, Eastern League Batting Title winner Trey Mancini and Eastern League All-Star Quincy Latimore.

Just three players on the Baysox 2016 roster will be making their Double-A debuts after making the leap from Advanced-A Frederick: INF Jeff Kemp, SS Adrian Marin and RHP Steven Crichton (pitched for Bowie in Eastern League playoffs). The sole newcomer to the Baysox and Orioles organization is RHP Paul Demny, who spent most of last season with the Harrisburg Senators.
