'Claws Leave Bases Loaded To End 4-3 Loss in Hagerstown
HAGERSTOWN, MD - Down to their final out in the ninth inning, the BlueClaws got a single and drew two walks, but Josh Tobias popped out to third to end the game and Lakewood dropped a 4-3 decision in Hagerstown Monday night.
With two out and nobody on against Ronald Pena, Grenny Cumana singled, Zach Coppola walked, and Jiandido Tromp walked to load the bases for Tobias, who popped out to Kelvin Gutierrez to end the game.
Lakewood had a chance to tie the game in the eighth inning, but after a run scoring error, Cornelius Randolph was thrown out trying to score from first on a ball lost in the lights by left fielder Telmito Agustin. Centerfielder Victor Robles picked up the ball and threw Randolph out at home to end the inning.
The loss drops the BlueClaws to 1-4 on the season while Hagerstown improves to 2-3. The teams will play Tuesday and Wednesday at Municipal Stadium and Monday through Wednesday next week in Lakewood.
The BlueClaws took a 2-0 lead in the third inning on a two-run home run by Jiandido Tromp, his second of the season. But it was a short-lived lead, as the Suns scored three times, two on a double by Rhett Wiseman, in the bottom of the third to take a 3-2 lead they wouldn't give up.
BlueClaws starter Harold Arauz took the loss, allowing three runs, all in the third inning, in five innings of work.
The Suns added a run in the seventh on a Victor Robles home run off Jose Taveras before the BlueClaws nearly tied the game in the eighth.

Tromp went 2-4 with a home run and Grenny Cumana had two hits in the loss for the BlueClaws.
